Iranian Girl Shot Dead
I don’t know if this happened during today’s protests but does it really matter much? I first saw this horrific video of this girl who died right before peoples’ eyes and didn’t know if I ought to post this. The word spreading forth is that her name was Neda and her death’s been confirmed. There’s no faking the way her eyeballs rolled up and the blood streaming out of her mouth and nose. This is no gag or playful hoax. This is life and death, coming at you straight from Tehran.
As I’d said earlier, if someone was shot dead by Iranian police, military or Hezbollah terrorists a week or a day ago, it doesn’t mean it’s any less heinous than getting killed today.
There are several such videos floating around on Youtube and elsewhere but if you have more than a reasonable suspicion that any one of them are genuine, if it was shot during Iran after the election a week ago, post it and get the word and images out.
Every now and then, I’ll see a relayed tweet (RT) or something coming directly from the ground that will plead for the United States or anybody to stand by them, to help them and my heart silently cries out to them in response.
And, I hate to say it, but it looks as if I’ll have to stand with conservatives and republicans on this and suggest that we get our State Dept. if not our military involved. The government of Iran obviously has no interest in restoring order. In fact, they’re the ones killing and maiming people like the girl you just saw die. Obama had the right idea yesterday with his stance of measured concern. But that was yesterday. And, as we used to say in the SEALs, the only easy day was yesterday.
This is today. This is no longer a riot. It’s not even a revolution. It’s a human rights emergency and I’m afraid that, at some point, we will need to get involved.
