Hepatitis B
Hepatitis B is a virus that specifically targets the liver and the liver cells in humans. It inserts its DNA into the nucleus of the liver cells and replicates through that. Most of the time, people can recover from this illnesses just by staying indoors and resting up for a couple of weeks. However, it can also lead to worse liver diseases like liver cancer if left untreated for too long.
There are two kinds of hepatitis B. The first one is acute hepatitis B, which has symptoms similar to those of the flu, and chronic hepatitis B. Except for children and a few special cases, most people just recover from acute hepatitis B without any problems. The symptoms are usually the loss of appetite, nausea, fatigue, joint pains, abdominal pain, dark urine, pale stool, and a yellowish tinge on the skin and eyes for some.
Chronic hepatitis B, however, poses a bigger danger to the liver because it can severely damage it through time. Chronic hepatitis B is long term and is the kind of hepatitis B that needs treatment.
Treatment usually involves shots of medicine to be administered over a period of four months, but there are also oral medications that people can take over the course of a full year. This should stop the virus from replicating through the liver cells, allowing the body to catch up to them to destroy them.
There are many pictures of both kinds of hepatitis B on the Internet. There are also pictures of the virus itself and how it works. Check these pictures out, because it might let you understand the gravity of the danger of having hepatitis B.
Hepatitis B cannot be cured, though it can be treated. Because of this, it is extra important to prevent yourself from getting infected. If you are in an environment where hepatitis B is common, make sure to get a vaccine. The vaccine can prevent at least 95 percent of infections from happening.
